ChargeWatch is an independent project. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data ChargeWatch accesses and how it is handled.
ChargeWatch does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers controlled by us. We do not have a backend, user accounts, or analytics.
ChargeWatch requests location permission to provide geofence-based notifications when you approach a monitored charging station. Your location is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers. Location data is shared with Apple's MapKit framework for map rendering and with the GRID API solely to fetch nearby charger data for the visible map area.
ChargeWatch communicates with the following third-party APIs to retrieve charger data:
GRID (api.grid.com) — to fetch charging station locations and real-time availability across the Netherlands. GRID's own privacy policy applies to data processed by their service.
Equans / laad-elektrisch.nl — to fetch Equans-operated station data. Their privacy policy applies to data processed by their service.
Your list of monitored stations is saved locally on your device in the app's sandboxed storage. This data is not synced, backed up to our servers, or shared with anyone.
ChargeWatch uses local notifications to alert you about charger availability. These notifications are generated on-device and do not involve push notification servers.
ChargeWatch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
